A Simple Team Trip Reflects a Stable Supplier

Pulished on Jul. 30, 2023

In 2023, while maintaining a steady growth in overall business, the company organized a four-day and three-night collective trip to Dali for all 70-plus employees. For us, this was not a particularly emphasized "welfare event", but rather a relatively natural arrangement during the company's development process. For an enterprise that has long been engaged in export business, whether it has the ability to have the entire team temporarily suspend their work and complete a cross-provincial trip at the same time depends on whether the business is stable and the pace is controllable.

Over the past year, our growth has mainly come from two aspects. First, the basic position of our glass products' exports remains solid, with existing customers continuing to repurchase and new customers gradually increasing. Second, the independent website channel has gradually matured, providing a more stable source of inquiries. Compared to the past when we relied on platform traffic, now more and more customers actively find us through search, content and long-term exposure. This has made the customer structure healthier and reduced the impact of fluctuations. Internally, we have not pursued aggressive expansion but have continuously optimized website content, product display and communication efficiency, while maintaining stable production at the factory end. This has enabled us to deliver orders on schedule even as the volume of orders has increased.

Under such circumstances, the itinerary for this trip to Yunnan was quite simple. The team arrived in Dali in batches by plane and stayed near Erhai Lake. The overall pace was relatively relaxed. During the day, some people went cycling around the lake, some took photos, and some simply rested; in between, there were also arrangements to visit the ancient city of Dali. There were no elaborate team-building activities planned, nor were there any unified "tasks". The main focus was to allow everyone to stay in a relatively relaxed environment for a few days. For a team of 70 people, this uncomplicated but successfully completed itinerary itself indicates that the company has a foundation in organization and collaboration.

After this trip ended, everyone quickly returned to their respective positions, and the work pace was not affected. Orders, communication, and production continued to proceed at the original pace. From the results, it can be seen that this trip did not "change anything", but it reflected a state: the company was operating within a relatively healthy range, had stable order sources, had controllable delivery capabilities, and also had the capacity to make some arrangements that were valuable in the long term but did not directly generate revenue.

So, if one must define the significance of this trip, it is not about "where we went", but rather about the underlying conditions behind it - that the business is ongoing, the team is stable, and the operations are orderly. For the customers, this is more direct than any form of display: you are working with a supplier that can operate long-term and deliver consistently.
